The short version

Which one fits your community?

Masjida is a mosque platform from Masjida ApS in Slagelse, Denmark. The company says it was founded by members of mosque communities, and alongside masjida.com it also runs the sites minmoske.dk and mojdzemat.ba. According to the vendor, more than 50 mosques in at least five European countries use the system. At its core is a member register: families share one account, memberships invoice themselves, MobilePay and Vipps agreements are charged automatically, and GDPR requests run through a queue with deadlines. On top of that come online donations, prayer times calculated from the mosque's address, events with paid tickets and check-in, a website, a free member app, info screens, and a Network plan for umbrella organizations.

moschee.io has a different focus — and we say so openly: moschee.io has no member management, no dues management, no association bookkeeping, and no madrasa module. moschee.io is the platform for your mosque's public presence and for Friday: a website with a custom domain, a community app, news and events, online donations with a donor portal, prayer times screens, livestreaming, and live AI translation of the khutbah with audio and captions. It is built by a German team; the interface is available in German, English, French, Turkish, and Arabic, hosting is in Europe, and every plan is listed with euro prices on the public pricing page.

The overlap is bigger than with pure association software: both offer a website, an app, events, donations, prayer times, and screens. So the differences decide. Masjida stands out for member management and for payment methods common in Scandinavia; according to the vendor, its admin dashboard is available in English and Danish. moschee.io stands out for livestreaming and khutbah translation, a German interface with German-language support, and prayer times that can also be calculated with the Diyanet method or synced with Mawaqit.

Choose moschee.io if…

  • Your Friday congregation speaks several languages: live AI translation of the khutbah with audio and captions that recognizes quoted Quran verses, plus livestreaming, recordings, and restreaming — optionally combined with human interpreters.
  • Your team wants to work in German: an interface in German, English, French, Turkish, and Arabic, built by a German team, GDPR-compliant, and hosted in Europe.
  • You want to budget in euros: every plan is listed with euro prices on the public pricing page, and the “Gebetszeiten” (prayer times) plan is free.
  • You want to keep sourcing prayer times the way you do today: own calculation (including the Diyanet method), offsets and iqama, Mawaqit sync, or CSV import.
  • You want flexible screens and donations: screens in the browser, with smart TV apps, a desktop app, or the “Moschee OS” Raspberry Pi image; donations by card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, a donor portal where donors download their own German tax receipt, and SumUp card readers for donations on site.

Choose Masjida if…

  • Real member management: families on one account, monthly, yearly, or one-time memberships with age limits, automatic invoices before each billing date, and a clear view of who is behind — families can sign themselves up on the website.
  • Payment methods that are everyday in Scandinavia: MobilePay and Vipps alongside card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay via Stripe. Cash and bank-transfer donations can be approved in one click, and Masjida charges no fee on membership payments.
  • Events with free and paid tickets, capacity per ticket type, guest registration without an account, and check-in at the door.
  • Well-developed GDPR tools: members see their data through a personal link, access and erasure requests run with a one-month deadline, and former members are erased automatically after 24 months; hosting is in Frankfurt.
  • A free-forever plan, a Network plan for umbrella organizations with shared news and events, and on paid plans a free setup within 48 hours including the import of your member list — with no setup fee and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Pricing

How pricing compares

Masjida publishes its prices in Danish kroner, including VAT (as of October 4, 2026): Basic costs DKK 349, Pro DKK 749, and Masjid Plus DKK 1,499 a month. Paying annually, you pay for ten months instead of twelve — DKK 3,490, 7,490, or 14,990 a year, which works out to roughly DKK 291, 624, or 1,249 a month; the pricing page shows these figures by default, while the homepage shows the monthly prices. On donations, Masjida charges 1.5% (Basic), 1.2% (Pro), or 0.9% (Masjid Plus) on top of the payment provider's fee; above DKK 50,000 (Basic) or DKK 100,000 in donations a month, the rate drops to 0.9%, 0.6%, or 0.5%, and donors can choose to cover it. There is no fee on membership payments. The free plan includes prayer times, one Masjida-branded info screen, three events, five news posts, and the app, but neither the member register nor donations. The website does not list prices in euros.

moschee.io pricing: Gebetszeiten free; Basis €99 per month (€89 per month billed yearly); Gemeinde Plus €199 per month (€179 per month billed yearly); Reichweite €499 per month (€449 per month billed yearly). On online donations, moschee.io charges a platform fee of 1% (Basis), 0.75% (Gemeinde Plus), and 0.5% (Reichweite) depending on the plan, plus Stripe's payment fees, which donors can choose to cover. The free “Gebetszeiten” (prayer times) plan covers automatic calculation, manual offsets, and a website widget. The website builder, app, online donations, livestreaming, and AI translation start at Basis; the higher tiers differ mainly in their quotas.

The two pricing models measure different things: Masjida tiers by member count (150, 600, or unlimited), number of info screens, and donation fee, moschee.io by reach and usage — such as page views, streaming hours, and translation hours. If you budget in euros, you have to convert Masjida's krone prices; moschee.io lists its prices directly in euros. Both offer a free entry point, and Masjida adds a 30-day money-back guarantee on paid plans.

Our verdict

moschee.io or Masjida?

If your board mainly wants a well-kept member register with family accounts, automatic dues invoices, and ticket sales for events, Masjida is the better fit — especially for communities in Denmark or Norway, where MobilePay and Vipps are part of everyday life, and for umbrella organizations using the Network plan. moschee.io cannot take member management off your hands.

If, on the other hand, your mosque wants to stream the khutbah live and translate it for a multilingual congregation, if your team wants to work in German and budget in euros, and if you need prayer times by the Diyanet method or from Mawaqit, moschee.io is the stronger option: website, app, donations, screens, livestreaming, and live AI translation from one system.

Running both side by side is possible, but less obvious than with pure association software, because the website, app, donations, and screens would overlap. So write down your three most pressing tasks: if member lists and dues come first, try Masjida; if the khutbah, livestreaming, and a German-language admin come first, start with moschee.io. Both offer a free entry point.
